An American League Theme

Postby Ducky » Fri Dec 16, 2005 4:55 pm

Any interest in a league that includes American League players only with the exception of one stud National League player? The one stud player could be a pitcher or hitter. The qualification to be an American League player is to have at least 3 of the 5 cards listed with an American League team.

Examples:

Winfield is an American League player, 2 years with San Diego and 3 with the Yankees.

Lonnie Smith is a National League player, 2 years with St. Louis, 2 with Kansas City and 1 with Atlanta. Lonnie could only be drafted as your one National League stud.

The draft would be based on the results of state daily three lottery numbers (someone help me with a link to the state lottery site).

The draft would be highest number to lowest for the stud player and lowest to highest for the stadium.

This one may take awhile to fill with the Holidays so if you decide to put your name in, have a little patience.

Stadiums

Postby Ducky » Fri Dec 16, 2005 4:56 pm

I forgot to add. American League stadiums only. And for anyone who asks, the Brewers are in the American League where they were in the '80s.

One other thing, DH will be used. Obvious, but needs to be in writing. I know someone will ask.

Divisions will be lay out as follows:

East lottery picks 1, 4, 7 & 10

Central 2, 5, 8 & 11

West 3, 6, 9 & 12

I am going to leave this out there for a few days and if there isn't any interest, I will pull it.

Is everybody too busy or do you think this concept will be too difficult to draft?

In other words, tell me if I am proposing a concept that won't work. I appreciate any feedback.

Last bump for now. If I don't get some interest, I will try this again in January.

American League Players Wanted!

Postby Ducky » Sun Jan 15, 2006 4:38 pm

The draft would be based on the results of state daily three lottery numbers.

The draft would be highest number to lowest for the stud player and lowest to highest for the stadium. The stud player would be placed first on your draft card to make sure you get him.

This league will require a little more hands on commitment during and after the waiver period since there is no way to stop HAL from placing National League players on your roster. My guess is the waiver and free agent drafts will have more player movements than normal. 8)

Bump.

Will someone, anyone, let me know if this theme is:

a) boring
b) too complicated
c) just plain crazy

I cannot believe there is not one adventurous soul out there that will sign up to get the ball rolling.

Thanks,

Mike
