cpl5454 talks about lefty killers such as Schmidt and Ogilvie.
I have a team with Schmidt, Molitor, Dawson, Trammell, Zisk, plus Singleton, Simmons.
After 21 games, it's hitting .223 against lefties and .316 against righties.
It hit 12 hrs in my first six games and 6 in my next 15, with 5 against leftes and 13 against righties.
I picked up Dawson on wiavers to add HR power. I've had him for 15 games and including the six he played with his other team he has 0 dingers and I know that .390 OBP has to come back to earth.

I do know I have Grich's worst card, but he hammers RHPs and gives me a 2 on D.
Any thoughts? If it wasn't for Sykes .75 hitters team I'd be 6 and 9 with what I think should be a much better team.

I have a team with similar problems including Grich, since dropped. My team includes McGwire, Puckett, Cey and Fisk. After 42 games, batting average against left handers is .224 with 18 homeruns. Fisk hasn't hit one against a lefty. I have Puckett's '87 card and he is not hitting at all. The numbers have to change at some point. My park is Fenway just as reference.

maybe the lefties you are facing are top-notch and having big seasons. Give the pitchers some credit.

Tommy John 1.30 WHIP, Charlie Liebrandt .92 WHIP, Danny Jackson (twice) 1.71 WHIP, Valenzuela (twice) 1.50 WHIP, Sid Fernandez .96 WHIP, Bob Ojeda .98 - the last three are with the under75M Hitters team and I beat them each game - Teddy Higuera (twice) 1.06 WHIP
Overall record is 5-5 against lefties, losing twice to Higuera and Jackson
And while the lefties may all be on good years, it is also possible my anemic performance against them is making them look better than they are

Something to keep in mind is that some of these particular RH hitters have years (often several years), when they hit better against RHP. This is true of Molitor, Fisk and Dawson, among others.

This is not all bad. The platoon advantage vs RHP can give you big clues about the player years, and it's also not all bad because you'll see more RHP anyway. If you need help against LHP, you could always look for another guy who can hit them to get some balance--maybe even make a trade along those lines. But I wouldn't be too sorry, for example, for some of Dawson's good years vs RHP. Then tend to be some of his best seasons.
