Incomplete Card Descriptions?

Bud Black was injured facing Richie Zisk. The result of the AB was a lineout vs Zisk, a RH hitter. Below are Black's possible 6-12 results vs a RH batter:

84 - strikeout
85 - SI
89 - # (BPHR)
90 - FB(rf)X
91 - FB(rf)X

Based on that there is no possible year for a lineout. However I suspect that the 85 year is more than just SI. It is probably

SI 1-10
lineout 11-20

or something like that. The complete description of that roll must not be visable on the TSN SOM card.

What do you think?

Hey :!: :?: Aren't I the owner of Bud Black in this scenario that you're describing? You doing some research?

Actually the whole thing kind of struck me as odd also. I reallly didn't have an answer for it myself when I saw it. However, I think that you're pretty spot on in your analysis. RFX rolls can't result in a lineout. So the only logical thing left is the single roll.

But if I was a betting man, I'd bet that 6-12 vs. right in that situation is actually a ballpark single that was neglected in the online version. <

What do you think?

Oh and also, Merry Christmas!

No one has an answer as to what year the lineout vs RH batter could be?

Does anyone have a Bud Black 1985 actual SOM card to see what a roll of 6-12 vs RH batter is?

I have always been a little sceptical when I see a roll result of only SI. If it was simply a single with one base advance it would look like this SINGLE*.

I think all SI results on the TSN virtual SOM cards are not the complete description.

Could Hal have doing a H&R or bunt? wouldnt this change the strikeout? What do the charts say?

I don't know what the H&R chart says but this happened when Zisk was leading off an inning so I doubt he was bunting for a hit.
