70s/80s Players' Championship, Year 2 (ROUND 4 - look NOW)

It's almost that time of year again. Time for another Players' Championship. Last year's tourney, which included more than 70 players, was won by MoodyWoody.

Here are the rules:

4 seasons - 2 70s and 2 80s, all DH, no unique stadiums for auto drafts (teams in individual league can play in any stadium they want), but we will have unique stadiums for live drafts, teams can only use ballpark one time in each game - e.g., you can use FENWAY in the 70s once and in the 80s once, but can't use it twice in either; 10 point penalty for stadium misuse; if you are lucky enough to make the final, you can choose ANY stadium, even one you've previously played.

- 1 point for each regular season win
- 5 points for winning a regular season division title
- 5 points for winning the wild card position
- 5 points for making the finals
- 10 points for winning a league championship

1st season - 70s autodraft (80M)
2nd season - 80s autodraft (80M)
3rd season - 70s Live Draft (100M)
4th season - 80s Live Draft (80M).

Players must compete in all 4 seasons to be eligible (although, I suppose, they wouldn't have enough points to advance if they didn't). The first two autodrafts simultaneously to get the thing going. The 3rd season would then follow toward the end of the first two and the 4th would follow toward the end of the 3rd (there'd be some overlap).

Top 12 point getters make the championship season, which will be Live Draft. However, 70s vs. 80s (and salary cap, if the 70s) will be determined by vote of the 12 players.

As an added bonus, every champion of every qualifying league in every event will be awarded 75 points towards their Manager Rating, instead of the usual 50 for "Advanced" leagues. Also, the Overall Tour Champion will be awarded 150 points instead of the usual 50 for winning the Champion's League. This even applies to non-Tour teams that are acting as "fillers".

- The 70s'/80s Players' Championship Trophy*
- The 2008 season Strat-O-Matic Computer Game or Board Game/Card Set
- a 1-year subscription to The Sporting News weekly magazine

The runner-up will also receive the 1-year subscription!

* - the Winner has the option to receive 4 team credits in lieu of the Championship Trophy.
