And so does Candelaria. I thought he was a pretty good pitcher and he's now 0-8 for me. Has anyone ever had him win a game? And Horner? Dude can't get an average over .189.

Crazy,

not sure what stadium you're playing or what the rest of your team looks like, but I'd have to disagree with you on both counts.

I've had Horner absolutely CRUSH the ball in Fulton Cty, Metrodome and Fenway Park. I've seen him on YountFan teams do the same thing.

I don't use Candelaria often, but he is typically very solid in the 5 man rotations that some teams use.

Give us a link to your team.

Happy New Horner Year !!!

LOL hey Sean, happy new year to you too. Well I'm happy with Horner's homeruns but his actual batting average just sucks. He hasn't been over .200 for me. I play in Tiger stadium. Most nights I get my butt kicked.

Seven dingers in 72 AB! If he keeps going at that rate, he'll hit about 50 for you in a full season.

As KL says, I wouldn't complain too much about Horner. His HR and walks are good, giving you a .823 OPS. His usual BA is .260 or better, so if you're patient that will probably come up.

Candy has been very good for me in some years. On three current teams he's a combined 25-12 for me--seasons or partial seasons of 3-0; 11-4; 11-8. So you could decide to hang on to him. But if you're ready to dump him--which might be a good idea, since you seem to need cash for hitting-- you could pick up a cheaper SP (somebody like Hass, Proly, Horton?).

In general, I think that your offense needs attention. Your proportion of cash spent on hitting relative to pitching is very low. No wonder you're not scoring many runs. Look at who is hitting for you and who is not hitting and try and get help in the areas of non-productivity.....Guillen is killing you offensively, for example. Maybe use the Candy cash to get a Roy Smalley/Franco-type SS while picking up a cheap RH hitting OF to platoon with Sheridan or Dykstra--both weak vs LHP? Anyway, you need to score more runs, and Horner is not your main problem....

Hey thanks for your help guys. I am going to look at my team and see what I can do.

Added Franco at SS and got Braggs to platoon with Sheridan in OF. I guess I'm happy with Horner...I was only looking at his BA.

Horner is one of my favs... he underperforms in BA and OBP, but i certainly live with his 40/100rbi potential

Those are some good numbers. Wierd how you got the same card of his three times eh? Is Tiger stadium a good park for Horner?

Tiger Stadium is a HR park and any HR park is good for Horner. That plays right into his strength.

Well, my team doesn't have a whole lot of homeruns but Horner is getting some. Braggs and Franco have helped the offence...I finally swept a series last night!
