Poison Pill Suggestions

Again copy and paste your suggestions to the list so we can keep a running tabulation on each post. This is 12 that I would think would be interesting. I think the lottery drawing should give you the choice of poison and draft order so that it balances out and is totally random.

1. All minority team. 80% of your pitching staff and your entire field players must be non-caucassions and you must play in the whitest city in America...Minneapolis-St Paul...The Metrodome

2. All 750k starting staff playing in the Kingdome

3. All 750k position players playing in Royals Stadium

4. All 4's up the middle team...your catcher/cf/ss/and 2b must all field a 4 and your catcher must have a + arm as well as your cf. YourDH must be a 1. You also must carry 25 players and play in Oakland.

5. The Vanna White Team. All players last names must start with a vowell.

6. The Pat Sajak team...all players last names end with a consanant.

7. The Geriatric team...or Wheeze Kids... All players must be 36 or older on at least one of their cards. Including pitchers.

8. Frequent Flyer Team...Only players who played for 3 or more teams on their card are eligible.

9. Lee Majors Team. At least 10 players or pitchers including DH must be 6 million dollars or more.

10. Slap Hitters in The Murph... Your entire roster of position players must not average more than 10 hrs and you play your home games in the Murph.

11. Gopher ballers in The Kingdome...Your entire staff of pitchers must have an average ERA of over 4.

12. Small market team disease...You must drop your lowest ERA pitcher and highest average hitter at the 45 / 90 / and 135 game marks of the season due to them leaving for free agency.

You should replace #1 with the pill I had which was players from 1 division only. Defined as a majority of their years as being played for teams within that division. Tie breakers going to the first team played for.

Just add suggestions by copying and pasting to the list in a new window. I really don't want to replace any now...lets get a whole list and look it over. TRich won with number 1..i think I made it a little tougher by making more of the pitchers minorities. Do you want it replaced because of racial implications? I hope nobody would take this negatively...I enjoyed the challenge when I did it in a regular league on my own...I broke it down to Latin players on one team and African American on the other. I played in 2001 where it was easier because there are more Latin players now than in the 80's...that is why they need to be combined...but there is no malice intended...in fact with TRich winning 92 games I think it was very revealing and rewarding. However we can remove any by how the majority feel...after all we have no designated commissioner yet...and it certainly is not me...I am just facilitating the signup and organization...not trying to be Alexander Haig here! I am not in charge!

I am personally not a fan of that "pill". I personally don't feel that it was a large enough handicap compared to the rest. Allowing half the staff to be different than the hitters was not fair. Due to the restrictions on teh other teams in the league, it allowed that sqaud to access players that many others did not have a chance to get.

Ultimately, I would like to see the pill league done as a live draft as well.

what about 100% of the team be minority...even all the pitchers...there should be plenty

i like themes to the pill

like a Bob Newhart team of all players who were crazy at some point.
the bullpen could be carried by Donnie Moore and Jeff reardon

The chill pill, players must be from one of the following; Detroit, Minnesota, Toronto, Montreal, Seatle, and both Chicago's

Charley Comiskey Pill. You can have no player over 3 million dollars. He was a cheap bastard.

The wanabe pill. Players must be from a team aht did NOT win a series during the 80's

ps. I like the white trash pill laying in minnesota. The Minneapolis trailer trash, gotta love it.

The jack McKeon pill. You must trade 8 guys during the course of the season. You can do multiple players, but 8 must go. they could be one a week or all at once.

The billy bean pill. You can only spend 65M, until the halfway point, then you can spend the rest of your money.

I will have to think of the rest I though up that night

The, input stupid manager here, pill. All of your players may not play in thier primary positions. Example boggs would have to be 3b

Thw white rat pill: all your players must have W power

come with some more
