Question about 70's game cards and computer

Please bear with me if this is a redundant question. I couldn't find a similar inquiry on the board. For the Strat 70's game or any other multi-year game, what methodology does the computer use? Is there a new "card" that is created leveraging the averages for the years identified or does the computer randomly pick a year from the in-scope years. I'm assuming for the specific year games, the computer actually uses the actual card entries?

Thanks!

The ATG game is year specific so if you play Bob Gibson there you are playing his 1968 season no matter what.

In 70's SOM you have 5 different seasons for a player listed. The computer randomly picks one of those 5 seasons and that player plays that card all season no matter if on your roster or dropped and picked up by another team.

You may get J Morgan's 1975 big boy card to play or you may get his bummer 1979 card. Through injury reveal, etc that's how you are able to dtermine his card year.

Wow! That's scary that would explain some of my teams performance..

Thanks!
