The Worst Team To Ever Make the Playoffs?

77 win team. Won division on last day behind the Rocket, which means I don't have him until game 2 of the semis. Finished the season 18-10 after starting a dreadful 59 and 75. I imagine this one will end quickly, but the last couple of weeks was a fun ride.........

Anybody ever have/see a team with a less than 77 wins make it?

What were the records of the other teams in your division? That has to be a record for futility while still winning a division.

75-87
74-88
71-91

It was actually a great pennant race. The 74 win team was in first for a lot of the season, but lost 2 of 3 to the 75 win team in the 2nd to last series. In the last series, I beat the 75 win team 2 of 3 with Clemens winning game 162. If we had tied, the 75 win team had the tiebreaker.

I hope I have a better record than that when I beat you in our league that starts tomorrow  I made it to the playoffs with an 85 win team once. I think I won that division by two games.

The Turbines. I will probably be crushed, but I am trying to remain optimistic.

Great D on that team. Joyner, Trammell, Sweet Lou, ED, Pena. One too many SPs and Cs for my taste, but looks good to me.

It wont matter if Strawberry hits 62 HR's for you like he did for that team.

By the way, the league mentioned by Jablowmi at the start of this thread is the same one described in the recent "Tough Division" thread. My "tough" Central division had teams that finished by winning 105, 99 and 89 games. When one division wins a lot, the other divisions of necessity win less. There was only one team over .500 outside the Central.''

I doubt if 77 wins is the fewest ever to win a division, though. I think I've seen lower, though I can't remember just when. Jablowmi staged a great final surge to take the playoff prize. :D
