Dw.Muphy, Bradley or Moseby- I missed waivers

I completely missed the waiver period.
The other teams were kind enough to leave Andujar, D. Martinez, some cheap *pitchers and Singleton.

Anyway, I think I still have a pretty good team but can't decide on a CF. Murphy has some Power and the fielding. I like Bradley (but not necessarilly in Wrigley) and I never paid much attention to Moseby but he seems pretty good. Von Hayes, Barfield and Van Slyke are also available. Any suggestions? Fred Lynn is also available but I think he is way overpriced for having only one dominating season. I was thinking of platooning Kemp and Lonnie Smith at first which would mean I would need a leadoff hitter against righties. (Or I can just bench Kemp). I also have Polonia as a third DH. I know I can dump Harrah and Kemp and upgrade but the only expensive cards out there worth getting I think are Lynn, Rhoden, Burns and Henke. Rhoden or Burns may be a good idea.

Any suggestions?

Von Hayes and Moseby in that order. I have solid results with both players. Von Hayes is versatile in that he can play all three outfield positions plus first base. Moseby has good speed and power as well, but is tied to center field only.

Given the choice between Van Slyke and Moseby, i'd go Van Slyke. Better D and better chance of a real good season, although you'd probably want to bat him low in the order against LHPs.
What about leading off Harrah?
But Bradley is another good lead-off option.

Didn''t realize Von Hayes was a 2(0) in right and left. As a CF he is a 3(0). My gut feeling is he is not wortht the 3(0) in CF.

What do other people think of Van Slyke. He seems really expensive for a platoon player (and I have no one to play CF against LH).

I was thinking of platooning Harrah and Bell (until I see if I have Harrah's bad year or one of Bell's 2 bad years) or until someone drops a superstar too early. Same thing essentially between Lonnie and Kemp. I don't think any of those players need to be platooned (but since I was unable to get any of the expensive pitchers I wanted, I got lots of dough-might as well hog good players with it)

That high-risk pitching staff is going to lose some games early on, but hopefully there are 4 good ones in there. (i'd be happy with three)

What have people's experiences been with Fred Lynn. He is injury prone but... looks like most of his seasons would have come up 30 HRs if he would have lasted 600 ABs.

I've had good luck playing Murphy in the Astrodome. His average will almost always suck, but he'll produce runs. If you get one of his decent cards in a hitter's park, he can be a monster. Great defense, good baserunner, can bunt -- I like him better than Hayes or Bradley in CF. Moesby is a good offensive player (better than Murph, overall), but he's not a one, and has no arm. Also DwMurphy can play LF, if you find someone better for CF.

The man can hit and will rock in the friendly confines. Pretty much a lock for 900 OPS. He is a top dog and you have to go with the big dogs

Lonnie Smith is one of my favorite Strat guys. Almost always produces, and is not too expensive. You can get MVP-type years from 3 of his 5 cards. Can't field a lick, so he has to be hidden or DH'ed. But what an underrated lead off guy he can be. If you get his power year, he'll give you 100 runs and RBI from the 3-hole.

Van Slykes D means you don't platoon him, just drop him in the order against LHPs. I never platoon him when I have used him. (Of course, I cut him real early once when two games in a row he was pinch-hit for versus an RHP.)
Also, look and see what sort of LHPs you will be facing. if not a lot, then the platoon factor is reduced.
I've also used Lynn but the injuries are tough to take.
