I plan on forming a second round of the Overpriced Guys league. For now admission is open to the guys participating in the present league which is at game 45 tonight. I imagine at least a few slots will open up so I'd be happy to have alternates in place for when we start. I want to iron out the rules and get managers interested to start the process in about 4 weeks. Here are the rules I have so far. Feel free to troubleshoot them with me...
[b:386cd3ce0e]OVERPRICED GUYS 2 RULES:[/b:386cd3ce0e]
[b:386cd3ce0e]1. Nominations:[/b:386cd3ce0e] There will be 13 rounds of nominations.
Rnd 1: First Base
Rnd 2: Third Base
Rnd 3: Second Base
Rnd 4: Shortstop
Rnd 5: Catcher
Rnd 6: Center Field
Rnd 7: Right Field
Rnd 8: Left Field
Rnd 9: Starting Pitcher
Rnd 10: SP or RP
Rnd 11: Relief Pitcher
Rnd 12: Additional Hitter
Rnd 13: Additional Hitter or Pitcher
Nominations can be placed in a first come first serve manner to fill the slots as quickly as possible. But a round must be complete before we move to the next round.
Position players are eligible for a position as long as the position is listed on their card: first, second, third, fourth... doesn't matter.
You must deem the player to be overpriced. If you think Mike Schmidt is over-priced. So be it.
All nominations must be players with a value of at least $2.
[b:386cd3ce0e]2. Draft:[/b:386cd3ce0e]
Draft order is determined by state pick 3 lottery. Lowest picks first and we snake back and forth in subsequent rounds.
The first round is a stadium draft. Round 2 is First Base, Rnd 3 is 3rd Base, and so on drafting positions in the exact order indicated by the nomination list.
You can only draft players nominated in that round group. So, for example, if we are drafting secondbasemen, you cannot reach to the additional hitters group for a secondbaseman. You can only draft one of the 12 nominated in that round. (or we could make it a drafting free for all?????)
[b:386cd3ce0e]3. Additional Rules:[/b:386cd3ce0e]
You must designate 1 player from your draft to be the Captain of your team. Your team name ought to reflect his name: Young Bloods, Jackson Four... This player must remain on your roster ALL season. You can not trade or drop this player.
You must keep at least 8 Overpriced Guys on your active roster at all times (any combination of hitters or pitchers will do). No exceptions. The remaining players you drafted are your property to add and drop as you see fit (except the Captain), but you must have a minimum of 8 on your active roster at all times (Captain plus 7). Of course you will be limited by the salary cap and take a cap hit for each drop and add.
You may trade away the rights to any of your players with the ONLY limitation being that you must have a minimum of any 8 Overpriced Guys on your active roster.
The remainder of your squad is filled in via autodraft and any other free agent (other than the Over Priced Guys that belong to other teams) are fair game for everyone.
