SP winning in relief with relievers on bench

I am really curious why HAL substituted a starting pitcher Allan Anderson n the 11th inning and he went 3 innings for the win. I still had a reliever Bruce Kison on the bench who wasn't used in the previous or following game.
Can HAL do that? Is it a system glitch? I'll take the win, but the distribution of relievers in this game was strange.

Anyone ever see this?

Is Kison set up as a mop up or something? Perhaps avoid right/left handed hitters? I'm thinking it may be something in your settings that kept him from coming in. Otherwise, it was just another boneheaded HAL move.

If you think that's strange though, my only 80s championship came when HAL for some strange reason decided to start reliever Willie Fraser in game 6 of the world series. I won the game. Like your example, I still believe there was a reason behind it, but I never figured it out.

No settings on Kison who has his 6R year.

I did get a text from HAL today:

[quote:03fc6f79b9]Chess, you Dummy! I put Anderson in because it is his best year and you haven't even played him yet. Just trying to give you a clue! Regards, HAL[/quote:03fc6f79b9]

I guess HAL knows everything!

I think if HAL wants to manage that badly he should break down and buy his own team!!

The one bench move that still frosts my rear end every time it happens is using infielders as catchers after a catcher goes down with an injury and the other catcher is being used as DH. I understand why it happens within a game, but not within a series. The latest example was an injury to Rick Cerone in game one of a series. I had Cerone catching games one and two versus left handed pitching and Tettleton DHing. Cerone goes down with and injury in the 13th inning of the first game and is replaced by Howard freaking Johnson. Apparently he did such a great job catching the one inning, that he got the nod a starting catcher in game two. The guy can't field at 3B so why not use him as catcher? The logic needs to be fixed just like the logic of using starting pitchers ahead of relievers in extra inning games when a reliever is available.
