Greetings!
I'm hopeful that a few owners will use this forum to run their pie holes once the auto draft runs its course. You spent $25 at some point might as well enjoy it - all season long.
Having spent some 15 months aways from this game, I plan to enjoy the heck out of it before Donald Rumsfeld sends me back to Iraq.
While I didn't spend much time playing BTT80s before my departure, I suspect not much has changed in the interim besides the level of competition.
As such, I won't be surprised on 4 February to find that I lost 75% of my draft card and every team in my division calls a pitching park home!
So, we'll see if HAL gifts me any of my top 8:
[b:a2e54d97f6]Brett
Smith, O.
Butler
Doran
Gywnn
Boggs
Burke
Reuschel
[/b:a2e54d97f6]
To that end, "SWING BATTER, SWING!!!"

Hey Gumby, what team are you? I'm Clash City, unfortunately in the West with Canucks64 (beware teams baring 40+ in their names). Glad to have you back in the game, and as a token of gratitude for your work overseas I'll not touch your top 8. I think I had:
Yount
Raines
Randolf
Clark
Stieb
Tettleton
Blyleven
Gamble
May the autodraft gods smile upon me!

[b:1900cd9ad3]Christmas! [/b:1900cd9ad3]
Five (5) posts in a TSN 80s league and it hasn't even drafted yet!
[b:1900cd9ad3]Unfrickenbelievable[/b:1900cd9ad3]
I own the proud Cleveland e-LEMON-ators club.
I thought about naming them the [b:1900cd9ad3]Cleveland Indians[/b:1900cd9ad3] but I didn't want to play down to the Tribe's 80s performance -
[i:1900cd9ad3]Harry Doyle: In case you haven't noticed, and judging by the attendance you haven't, the Indians have managed to win a few ball games, and are threatening to climb out of the cellar.[/i:1900cd9ad3]
I figure to find a bunch of lemons on my team just like the Tribe did through the 80s.
Now that Penngray is playing his ~40th plus team - I might as well let my wife manage this club. She probably will do much better tossing out the trash and while apply make-up to the clowns on my roster. [/i]

Im curious what other people think, but based on my experience:
Butler (3rd), Tettleton (6th), Clark (4th), reuschel (8th), Stieb (5th) are going to be tough. That is about as low as you want to go with those guys. I think I have missed each of those guys at those levels at some point-and Ive only played about 10 times. Never got Clark or Tet at those points but I think it is possible.
Burke actually does need to be placed that high to be sure youll get him. Somethings wrong with that cost vs ERA/WHIP ratio.
Gwynn and Boggs-NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. Try 2nd and 3rd next time.
I have put Brett first twice and have gone 0 for 2.
If this game continues to grow and get more good players, Stieb is going to be a top 2 pick soon. When I started playing about a year ago I would get him 8th. I lost him at 5th recently.
