Great keeper league needs one replacement manager. Good guys, been going five seasons strong. Basic concept: choose three keepers from your team. (Rose, Kingman, Hooton, Matlack among others available). One round supplemental draft. Then autodraft the rest of your team.

If anyone wants to be in keeper league, sign up or feel free to ask any questions.

I might be interested in a 70s keeper, but I have several questions:

How many season commitment is this?

Any restriction on the number of times you can keep a player (does the team with Bench, for example, have him forever)?

Must I keep 3 or can I have extra supplemental picks if you only keep 0-2?

What is the Salary Cap? Waivers or Frenzy? DH or NO? Unique stadiums (am I stuck with what the previous owner of this franchise chose)? Is it 5/10/20 drop?

Is the player pool restricted in any way based on real life years played? For example since it looks like you are into season 6 are players who were not rookies until after 1976 or retired pre-76 ineligible?

Is the supplemental draft order determined by reverse record during Season 5 (worst to champ)? Is it safe to assume the available franchise had a poor record and thus a high supplemental pick?

After you answer these questions, would I be able to see the roster before I give a firm commitment?

1. While we hope the new manager will stay for multiple seasons, there is no commitment beyond the first season.

2. There are no restrictions on your keepers. You can keep them every year or you can cut or trade them any year at any time. Every season you select any three players from your end-of-season roster to be your keepers.

3. That is an interesting idea to allow keeping less than 3 for more supplemental picks, but that is not an option. However, when you look at the roster that is available, I don't think you'll have any trouble picking three you want to keep.

4. $80 million salary cap. Waivers. DH = yes. Unique stadium (Candlestick in this case). 5/10/20 drop. *A team that does not make the playoffs can change its stadium during the supplemental draft. However, they will pick last in the draft if they do. Nobody has exercised this option yet. The team up for grabs has about a 33 percent chance to make the playoffs with three games to go.

5. There are no restrictions on the player pool.

6. Nonplayoff teams draft in the first 8 positions from worst record to best. Championship team picks last. Runner-up next-to-last. Each year divisions are shuffled based strictly on W-L record: best in East, worst in West. Team that is available is 83-76 with a chance to make the playoffs.

7. See next post for roster of available team.

I was commissioner for the first five seasons. Wanting to take a break from those duties, Ed has graciously taken over as commissioner from this point forward. I'll be staying on as a manager.

It's a great league. Every year we have nine managers who want to continue, we have another season. This season, we had 11 out of 12 stay on.

The keeper concept looks like a lot of fun. I'm in.

Ok, great. There is a post already up to name your keepers. So decide from the list who you want and list the three players on the Keeper League 6 post. Welcome aboard.
