Closer usage

How does the closer usage option work? Do you use "Aggressive" if you want your closer to go more than 1 or 2 innings? Or does "Aggressive" limit your closer to only the 8th or 9th?

Thanks

My understanding is this

Closer: Max will bring in your closer to end the game more ofter
Refief: Aggressive will pull your starters sooner, and use more relief.

To get the more innings to a hot RP make then him setup and closer, Closer set to Normal, Relief Aggressive, uncheck all individual settings too. You may also considering your starters to 7IP if you have a strong pen

I was able to get Hiller into 85 games by listing no settings, for anyone, on manager strategy, but dropped the pitching staff down to 9 pitchers. so Hal had no choice but to use him. You can only do that in the 70's game.

Hiller had the Slow hook. That's all. 16-4, 85 games, 168 IP, led the league in ERA, 22 saves, Cy Young.

In the 80's game, you have to have ten pitchers. But you can take a cheap starter, and put him on your pitching staff, so Hal is forced to use the RP.
