Mystery Card games... what's coming up!

Ok, I'm going to keep this announcement as brief as I can; when I spend too much time composing and polishing my posts it puts me off the whole communication thing, and you know how much trouble I get into for that.

So here's the two significant things I wanted to announce regarding the future of the "Mystery Card" games.

[b:ded3f79cf7]My next immediate project is building support for Mystery Card games into the central SOM Online site.[/b:ded3f79cf7]
It's going to take a good bit of effort, but we do need the central SOM Online site (where all new player sets are being played) to be able to support the Mystery Card format. This will allow us to [i:ded3f79cf7]eventually[/i:ded3f79cf7] (though not immediately) bring over the '70s and '80s games to a more modern platform where they can enjoy all the interface and gameplay advances that all our other games have enjoyed and will enjoy going forward. When we do that, we'll definitely "reboot" them with all-new player salaries and whatever else we can think of.

I say these reboots will happen "eventually", because once I finish building the Mystery Card support, our more immediate launch will be:

[b:ded3f79cf7]A new '90s game, coming this fall.[/b:ded3f79cf7]
Woooooo!

Ok, that's it for now.

Bernie, in case you haven't noticed, check out the thread on this forum titled "ALL 70'S PLAYERS PLEASE READ & RESPOND!" It has some good discussion about changes we'd like to see make to the mystery games. I bumped it earlier.

I can not wait for the fall. I've been dreaming of a 90s game for some time now. This is going to be awesome!

Also, getting the mystery games on the main engine would be a great way to bring new players to the game. I would bet a bunch of ATG and 200X players would try the mystery game a few times if it were on the main game engine. There would be no hassle in buying a separate credit or having to wait for support to transfer an existing credit just to play it.
The only concern would be making sure newbies know the difference between a mystery card game and a regular game. I could see a new player not reading any FAQs or checking out rules, thinking they're playing an 80s ATG type game where they think they're picking the season they want to use or something, and complaining when things don't work out the way they expect.
There will need to be a clear distinction of the rules for the mystery games.

Way to go Bernie!

My hearts all a flutter.....

I can't wait for that 90's game.

Gotta think Bonds, Sosa and McGwire will require a few dollars....

I'm hoping that new 90's game is a mystery card game...

I would assume so or else it would be advertised in the 200X and/or ATG forums.

Being the old dinosaur that I am, I was really hoping for a 50's or 60's mystery card game. The 90's to me was just swing from the heels and let it fly. I guess that's what the people want. It's probably time for me to just roll myself up in a big ball .....a-a-a-a-a-a-and die.

We are excited about a new 90's mystery card game and would play it a bit (Thank you Bernie!) but a 50's/60's mystery card game would rock! Sign me up for (2) 5 packs right now if you ever launch that one!

The steriods (aka, home run) numbers will be unreal. Add Piazza, Thomas & Bagwell to Sosa, McGwire & Bonds. Maddux could have a great card. Looking forward to it.
