Eddie is my favorite play at first base. You can typically draft him a bit lower and he produces most of the time. He hits in pitcher and hitter parks. Here are some examples:
In Dodger Stadium
1980 card 95 runs - 39 HR - 113 RBI - .247 avg
1982 card 109 - 35 - 106 - .316
1983 card 100 - 49 - 121 - .285
1989 card 86 - 29 - 112 - .237
In the Kingdome
1983 card 114 - 47 - 121 - .295
1983 card 138 - 43 - 149 - .305
1984 card 137 - 50 - 121 - .322
You will notice that the 1983 card seasons are pretty similar for both Dodger Stadium and the Kingdome. The two Kingdome teams where Murray had only 121 RBIs...his RBIs were a bit depressed as each of those teams had 5 players with 100+ RBIs (tip...5 players with 100+ RBI seasons usually equals a championship for me). Even with his 1989 card...bad average, but the other categories were not too bad.
I say go for Eddie...except in leagues where I am playing ;)
