The worst of Reggie Jackson

Postby JONCHUCKERY » Fri Jul 30, 2010 8:25 pm

Anybody ever play a full season on Reggie's 1970 card (his worst)? I have it currently for a team in Yankee Std and he actually doing fairly well. He's on pace for about 110+ RS and mid 90's for RBI with 20+ HRs. When I look at the available players I'm not that excited...Winfield is there but don't need a RH bat in Yankee + not a huge fan anyway. Oliva and Staub don't excite me because their best isn't a whole better than Reggie's worst + their worst is not as good as Reggie's worst. I'm going to keep him for now as I'm actually winning and he's producing.

Would like to see any team you've had where you played Reggie's 70 card for the season

Staub in Yankee on a current team. Much better than Reggie's worst card IMO.
I don't know the year yet but I'm guessin 1971 based on the stats. It is one of these: 70, 71, 74 or 78.

I've never used Reggie, but I'd like to defend Oliva. I have had a few good seasons with his 70 card, not even his best.

Though to be fair, it's not always good.

I don't put much stock into that one because it's a pitchers park and nobody on my team really did well.

I've had every Reggie season, and have found that his '70 season outperforms his '75 season b/c it is more balanced. '75 he crushed righties, but hit like former teammate Dal Maxvil against lefties. Even so, Reggie at his worst is still better than most options.
