80's Templeton, Bowa, Gagne?

Postby larfor » Mon Sep 13, 2010 5:47 pm

I drafted Schmidt, McGwire, Canseco, Strawberry and Tartabull. I have Garcia at 2B, a 2e17 fielder who can hit for average. Right now I have Bowa (for defense) with Gagne and Templeton available.
My SP's are Soto, Sutton, Saberhagen and Deleon. Relief staff seems ok.

Is the difference in Bowa's 14 error rating and Templeton's 36 rating worth keeping Bowa who has a 20% chance of a good hitting year, since I probably have a pretty decent offense? I'm afraid I'll screw up my pitching with too many errors at SS if I take Templeton. Gagne has a bit of power with a 23 E rating.

With those hitters it sounds like you are likely in a HR friendly park. If that is the case then I would not keep Soto. Personally I like Templeton better than Bowa, Gagne is never used except as a last resort.

I'd snag Dejesus or Schofield if they are available over Bowa or Templeton or Gagne.

I like Templeton, I never use Bowa, and Gagne is just a go to guy when all else fails.

I also like to go with a couple of the cheapies that have 2 ranges, like Uribe and Schofield, and then see who has the better card (or maybe a platoon).

No SS with 2 fielding rating availble. I picked up Templton for his offense.
