BTT 90s Ryne Sandberg - should I keep him?

He's batting .223/.317/.298 through 33 games. I'm playing in the Astrodome (2/2/2/2) but that's still pretty anemic. All the other high dollar 2B are gone. Should I stay with him (mainly for his defense) or should I drop him, take a chance on a lesser 2B and spend the money elsewhere? I'm currently in first place and, other than catcher, don't really have a glaring weakness, so I don't want to end up shooting myself in the foot.

Post and link to your team and what are his splits. That is a lot of cash for those numbers.

He's decent against L, dreadful against R. So far, I haven't needed his offense, but I have a feeling I will. Here is the link.

Just my opinion, but I'd keep him if you can. (But it looks like you might need the cash to upgrade your SP.)
You can get some really dreadful lines in the Astrodome. I has Cirillo's '96 card put up a .222/.305/.338 line, and Hal Morris's '93 card put up a .244/.294/.296.
It's too early to tell which card you have, but long as his OBP is near his two worse years, you probably have one of his better years. (His BA nad HR totals are going to take a hit in the Astrodome.)

...Or I might try to trade him to a team in a hitter's park.

There is a decent chance you could still have a good card. The Astrodome does make it tough to tell. I'd guess 91, 92 or 96. He could stink all year on a good card, as in the examples above. Not really a good park for him.

I'm leaning towards it being the 1996 card (his worst) given the fact that his away stats are actually worse than his home stats.

You must dump his bad card, as it's too much $$$ for such a horrible card. There are plenty of cheap 2B.

I dropped him. Turns out it was his 1992 card, which is pretty decent. I guess that will teach me.....
