I had Tom Niedenfuer suffer an injury on a groundout vrs a lefty. Based on his stats I'm pretty sure I have his 83 card so it's not really much of an issue, but his 86 card has a ballpark single effect.
Does anyone know if a ballpark single effect rolled an out could result in a groundout in the boxscores if the bases are empty, or are they always lineouts?

30.4 BALL PARK SINGLES (upside down black triangle): Ignore all readings that have a (upside down black triangle) symbol to the left of them. Instead, refer to the Ball Park Effect Chart. Find the home stadium and the correct batting stance of the current batter (L=lefty or R=righty). This is the new dice range for the single. Roll the 20-sided die to determine whether the batter has hit a SINGLE* or a lineout.
Based on the above SOM rule it will always be a lineout if it is not a single.

OK, I was looking to craft a response to what you said, and I found the answer to my question.
http://somonline.wikia.com/wiki/Maximum_rule:_Improve_out_distribution
Improve Out Distribution is listed as active, and the page specifically says ballpark outs can be any type of out.
