Question regarding 90's game set

I thought I read somewhere with the 70's and 80's game sets that once you drop a mystery card, it can never be the year that you dropped and it will be one of the remaining 4 years cards. Does that apply to the 90's game as well?

For example, you have Danny Darwin and you think that you have his worst year of the five, so you drop him and pick him up again thinking that now (if my first assumption is correct) you won't have his worst year but one of the remaining four years. Can anyone verify that?

The season (aka card) is set before the season starts and never changes. Darwin's worst will stay his worst no matter haw n=many times he is picked up and dropped. I think Fantasim works as you describe.

Oh no!

The players year never changes??? Great, I just lost out on some cap money by dropping a player and then picking him back up! Ouch! Guess it is better than dropping several players and burning all that cap money.

Thanks Yountfan for your response!
