Went for Goose, got Willie. Ive had him twice and both times he got slaughtered by righties (dropped him both times so I cant verify the years). In how many of his years does he make a good closer, instead of a lefty specialist?

I like Willy, I have had success about 4 or 5 times. He is still in the record books too.

Have you used him as your closer at the start of a season since Canucks3.
What do 65 Canucks teams translated into timewise?

I will have to look, I have him in 2 leagues right now that started last week.

Hernandez, W. L R3 4 0 10 36.0 20 5 9 22 1.25 .81
Hernandez, W. L R3 0 0 2 5.2 5 1 1 9 1.59 1.06

I would be nice if TSN had a player search on our team history page.

I like him. I like him better in a pitcher's ballpark. He's lights out in one year. Very good in another. And effective as a lefty specialist in the rest.

I've got a lot of data on him from my history. Thing is you really need to set him up like a lefty specialist from the get go. Once his his stats start rolling in, make adjustments.

I'm with you on Willie, Adam. Never has been consistent in any league I've tried, including leagues other than SOM leagues. Maybe I've just never had his killer card, and if that's the case, I think his price tag is a little too rich for a mostly lefty specialist. I prefer Goose and a few others in that range.

I think he is probably to good to drop, but I may still need to invest in a 2-3 million dollare closer.

Im feeling generous. You can have him for, oh I don't know....hmmmm, how bout that Boston guy who isn't good enough to have a name. I might even through in another player or two. I have an irrational attraction for nameless guys (that aren't from cincinnati).

By the way, I was meaning on telling you how good Schmidt and Larkin are. I wouldn't even consider going for another SS or 3B in waivers. you need a 1B. If you wait to get one in the second round you may be stuck with Cooper.

Did you go for Larkin or were you trying to get Ripken?
