Just finished up 121 win season -- beats my 117 win 80s team. I guess this is what happens when you hit the best or 2nd best card for almost every player. Played at the Murph with focus on power (and walks), pitching (with low bphr) and defense (all 1s and 2s). 2 25 game winners. Let the lead in runs scored by a wide margin and fewest runs allowed. Tons of power and offense, with good pitching top to bottom. We will see what happens in the playoffs, but every once in the while every move you make seems to works. I was No. 1 in waivers since I missed several high draft picks, but some of the players Hal gave me (e.g., Barfield, Dykstra) worked out just fine.

Wow, 121 wins is incredible. Great job! Poor Herm Winningham couldn't even sniff an AB on this loaded team.

You wouldn't have had 121wins if I was in the league. Who were the managers playing against you? From the local low IQ club? I was my high school and college champion in face to face strat. I just joined a 90's league for my first computer team. Why not join and see how you do against real competition.

121 is actually more than incredible. I have won in the 108-110 range in a couple of games with what are obviously my best teams ever and they were incredible. After winning 110 and seeing how fast your win % falls if you even lose a series, to win 11 more games and get to 121 seems impossible to me. It is deserving of whatever the highest superlative that exists is.

A good point is made regarding the level of competition in order to be able to attain a 121 win season. My personal experience is that it is difficult enough just to win 96-98 games, let alone 100. I have won 100 or more games only 3 times with almost 200 teams played, and the highest was 102 win season.

Nevertheless, the mystery game is very different from face to face tabletop baseball. Theoretically, if Hallerose won the mystery game lottery in which every card was a big winner, then I suppose 121 wins could be achieved against any competition. However, it would be like winning a million dollar lottery. I could play a thousand teams and never win 110 games, let alone 121.

Halerose had a team for the ages.

Yeah the competition wasn't the absolute best (but there were several experienced, good managers), but I have done ok in the barnstormers leagues too (had 102 wins in the last barnstormers championship league after finishing no. 1 in the 4 prelim leagues). 110 win range is normally when almost everything goes right, which I have done a few times (I think my records were 117 in 80s, 116 in 90s & 113 in 70s), but I'm sure it will take a lot of trying to beat 121 wins -- you really need almost every decision/card to go right. Of course, this team was eliminated 3-1 in the semis.

Just ignore the troll. It's impressive no matter which way you look at it.

Congratulations! That's quite an accomplishment.

I've played against you before and you are a formidible opponent. In fact, you knocked one of my best teams (109 wins) out in the playoffs in the first round.

Don't pay any attention to the guy talking smack. After all, he's a rookie.
