I have never played in Royals before. Do I have enough power to compete? Any suggestions?

Just one Royals team to my name but I've probably reviewed three dozen different Royals park teams over the past three weeks.
While you have the hitters that can get on base without suffering the ill consequences of the bigger park, going station-to-station with TSN is difficult as HAL seems to differ on its stealing / running approach.
Your team appears to be a tad short on pure HR hitters. If the majority of your opponents posses decent defensive catchers / pitchers with negative hold ratings - you might be a bit challenged to run on them.
Heck, I had Butler, Smith (twice), and Schmidt tossed out in the same game by Simmons.
To your question, if you can get a better power hitter - consider it against your construct.
Otherwise, keep an eye on HAL's running logic
Rootin' Tootin' Squad.

Love your team. You had an excellent draft. You also complemented your team all the way around to try and cover for weaknesses. Some may argue that your choice of D. Schmidt as the fifth starter is a waste of money but I won't.
You never know if Jim Deshaises' evil twin brother might show up to pitch. And with another solid Righty as a swing man in the rotation you can play strategy with your splits.
Your team is solid as is in my opinion. Only thing to do is get to opening day to see what cards show up. If anything could be a problem, it might be that all four of your main starters will have difficulty with 2 Kingdomes in your division. I wouldn't sweat it though.
I'd take your squad in Royals as my team any time.
Here's my all time best team (103 wins) in Royals for comparison:

Here's my other championship Royals team in the NO DH format:

That one was my very first 80's team. Kind of a "win ugly" team but they got it done. Should help answer your question on your power question.
Here's my rule of thumb for winning in Royals: Find a way to keep your slugging above .400 as a team. Keep your OBP above .335 and you'll compete just fine assuming you have a solid pitching staff.
Anything above .400 slugging and .335 OBP takes the pressure off of your pitching staff considerably.
Good luck. Looks like a championship team to me.

I decided to drop Schmidt and Deshaies for Bruce Kison and Bud Black. Now I have Soto, Blyleven, Black and Browning as my rotation. Hopefully Black will be able to hold up away from home a little better than Deshaies would have.
Good move or would I have been better off to keep Deshaises to pitch at home and Schmidt on the road?

I like the move. It's hard to offer advice without knowing what you had available on the FA market beforehand.
Really is a good looking team on paper.

Thanks for the nice words about my team. Too bad that the games aren't played on paper instead of in my computer! :P :P

my biggest observation on your team is that opposing runners will be salivating at the opportunties to steal bases and advance across the diamond. royals stadium is the place where more players will reach base. your job is to make sure you can advance your baserunners while preventing your opponents from doing the same. i have had 2 championships in 3 teams at royals stadium. here is a link to my current team:
