Advantages of max innings for relievers

With a stable full of good R2 relievers, are there any advantages to going with a max# of innings (1-2) vs max # of innings (2-3) for the better ones? Obviously I would like to maximize the # of innings for my better relievers, but would I also run the risk of blowout innings from overuse by picking max innings of 2-3 for all? Is it a big risk?

Aqualung my friend... you don't want to overwork the boys in the pen. Fatigue is a factor to consider and if guys are R2 I set then to max 2, R3 sometime max 3, sometimes max 2 depending on the guy and how he is doing. I wish they had a max 1.
When guys get tired outs become hits. The @ next to an out is a hit when the dude is running on fumes. Keep them fresh.

It is just such a guesswork proposition.
I don't usually set those at all at first and watch to see how HAL uses the troops. If I have someone I definitely want in save situations, I will check them to not use before the 8th and 1 - 2 max. If I have someone I definitely want to be the setup man, I will check him not to use before the 7th, 1 - 2 max.
If you put too many restrictions on HAL, he will make some goofy moves (even goofier than his normal goofy ones?)
But you have to give HAL some guys to work with, if you force him to only use a few, they will pitch fatigued and be bad.
If you check them all to some max number, you better get a mop up guy, but HAL will still get you and use that mop up guy in a key situation and really chap you.
A lot of the fun is loggin in, looking at the box score, scratching your head, and trying to reset them so HAL doesn't do the same thing again.
(By the way HAL, I love you man, please don't put my teams in a tail spin, I meant no disrespect.)
