I think I just nailed a record number of the least wanted autodraft players - the guys you get when you don't get the guys you want. In a draft yesterday, I got:

Dave Henderson
Ellis Valentine
Hubie Brooks
Doug Decinces
Dusty Baker
Don Aase

Needless to say, things didn't work out as planned! I have more than $24M to spend and still have Henderson and Decinces, and also Wallach for that matter.

Who are other guys in this "class?" Langston and Eric King are other "all waiver team" players.

Put Schmidt #2 on my waiver card. Wound up with Bob Horner. Ouch!

Then there's the SS delimna---try to draft Ozzie, and you sometimes wind up with either Franco or Thon instead.

The all-Waiver team has to include Nolan Ryan, Sixto Lezcano, Dusty Baker, Kent Hrbek, Andre Thornton, Glen Davis, Bob Welch, Chet Lemon. Although they can all be decent, these guys are always dropping to me after the autodraft...

Sixto is a definite addition. I really like Hrbek.

Hal McRae has got to be #1!

I nominate John Stearns as the catcher of this squad.

I recently tried to draft Schmidt to anchor a Jack Murphy team and got DeCinces instead. So far so good with plan B: Doug's got 13 dingers in the first 27 games.
