on the stragety settings for a pitcher what does the MAX 6 IP FOR START and MAX 7 IP FOR START mean? if you set it for 6 ip then does that mean the pitcher will go 6 innings no matter what? any help would be great

thank you

......sooooo, it's basically not a good idea to use these settings. Why pull a SP who is cruising just because it's the seventh inning?

The only way you might want to use these is if you've got a very cheap starting rotation, an expensive bullpen, and you want to get to the bullpen ASAP in every game.

Or you're in a usage limits theme league where you can't exceed their actual card usage.

Or, you get stuck in a situation where, say, you have a LH starter up against a lineup loaded with RH sluggers, and you have a rested stud RH reliever in the pen. You might check max 6 or max 7 IP for that starter. Just because he makes it 6 or 7 innings tiptoeing through the minefield doesn't mean he won't step on a mine in that 7th or 8th inning.
