a starter is brought in to close or hold the game! WTF is that! Thats not
the "manager strategy I use" why even have "manager Strategy" if it is
ignored !!! Why wasn't one of my relievers brought in! I demand an
explanation!!!!!!!!! I pay money to play this game and I expect my
moves to be implimented or.....is this just all random and the stretegy
part is just a sham?

Apparently Caldwell didn't get the win or save. If he did we wouldn't be hearing about it.
We all pay money to play this game so what does that mean? If a particular pitcher is set as closer that doesn't mean he will be used in every closing situation. The same goes for set up man. There are other factors that could come into play.
Yes HAL does some strange things sometimes but you just have to expect it and try to limit the number of times it happens to you by having players HAL can work with and having your settings set to your tastes. Even if you have the perfect roster and the perfect settings you will still be screwed by HAL from time to time.

I think the point is...Caldwell is a starter...not a reliever!!

Yes I understand that but what would his settings have to do with that? What I was trying to say is that just because you use the settings to have a particular pitcher be your closer and another to be your set up man you will not always get those players in every such situation no matter your settings.
A starter only coming in to relieve is a completely different situation that has nothing to do with settings. This should only happen if all other reliever elligible pitchers have already pitched in a game.

It is my experience that starters come in when relievers are fatigued.
Had your relievers pitched a lot lately? do you have three games of boxscores?

Could it also be possible that it is a TSN conspiracy against STEELxGLADIATOR? :P

Could it also be possible that Mr. Glad isn't going to come back to engage the board further in discussion on the matter?

I am sure there is 'special' logic in HAL just to burn you up. The secret to contoling HAL is not to control him. Use the min. setting possible or he gets confused.

What relief pitchers were available on your roster that HAL passed over for Caldwell? Had those pitchers been used the past few games?
