Royals Help Tigers to Third Straight Loss[/size:0e0805cc06]

The Royals lefty threw a 4-hit shutout sending the Tigers back to their cages. Even more remarkable than Detroit's having lost 3 in a row is the fact that all 7 AL West teams beat their AL East opponents last night.

[b:0e0805cc06]In other action:[/b:0e0805cc06] The Orioles and Braves found similar paths to lose last night, as both teams managed to blow leads in the last few innings. The O's gave up runs in the 8th, 9th and 10th innings, while not to be outdone by their NL brothers in shame, the Braves, who also chunked it in the 8th and 9th inning as well.

[b:0e0805cc06]Injury Notes:[/b:0e0805cc06] Eric Davis tweaked his hammy during the Reds' win over the Expos and is expected out for up to a week... A's super-star catcher Jerry Willard took a Dave Stieb curve to the head and is expected out at least 2 weeks... Juan Samuel left the Phillies' loss with disgust at the team's terrible play of late. He is expected back Thursday night.
