Veteran catcher Carlton Fisk's RBI single scored the winning run in the bottom of the 9th, sending the 39,000 White Sox fans into a wild frenzy.

The White Sox trailed by a run entering the 8th inning, but tied the game via John Cangelosi's base running. Cangelosi stole 2nd & stole 3rd, then scored on a ground out to tie the game at 4-4, setting up Fisk's heroics the next inning.

Cleveland starting shortstop Rick Burleson was injured while batting in the 2nd inning and is expected to miss a week.
