The game was tied at 4 after 9 innings, when Coleman drove home Terry Pendleton on a single, after Pendleton stole second earlier following his base knock. Once the first run was in, Mr. Coleman proceeded to steal second base and third base, then scoring easily on an Andy Van Slyke single. Andy then tried to steal a base for good measure and was thrown out. Even a broken clock is right twice a day. Overall, the Cards stole 5 bases in the game.

Rickey Henderson enjoyed his day at the plate batting the the 3-hole, driving in 3 runs and hitting his 17th home run of the year.

Out in San Francisco, Mike Lacoss had Pirate hitters scratching their heads, as he led [url=http://www.sportingnews.com/baseball/1986/scores/boxscore.php?id=1100]the Giants to a 3-0 win[/url]. Lacoss did so without the assistance of any double plays as he scattered 5 hits and 3 walks over his 9 innings of work.
