The clutch hitting started with the Indians trailing 1-0 in the 8th inning. Carter tied the game with a two out single through the middle of the infield that scored PR Otis Nixon from second base.

Two innings later, Carter provided more two out heroics... driving home the game winning run with a single off Orioles RP Nate Snell (0-9).

Swindell (12-6), lowered his ERA to 3.35.

The come from behind victory, part of Cleveland's surge over the past several weeks, is another statement to the league that the Indians are for real in the 1986: Take Two season. The Indians have slowly but surely entered the race for the playoffs, and sit at 5 games back in the American League East.

The Cardinals trail the Mets by two games in the N.L. East. Meanwhile, in the N.L. West...
