With the win (Toronto's 4th straight), the Blue Jays have won 8 of 10 in cutting Detroit's lead to 2.5 games in the American League East.

While Key allowed baserunners (8 hits, 1 walk), he also got key batters out almost every time he needed to- stranding runners on base in six of the first seven innings. The White Sox were not able to manage a run until the 8th innning, when Key finally tired (2 hits, WP, one out).

After relieving Key in the 8th inning, Toronto closer Tom Henke retired five of the six batters he faced, earning his 30th save on the season.

The Mets and Cardinals remain tied atop the NL East, while Houston leads San Diego by 3.5 games in the NL West.
