Right Fielder Tony Gwynn hit a home run and scored 3 runs to lead [u:1a17505fcf]San Diego past Houston 10-7[/u:1a17505fcf], helping the Padres avoid being swept by Houston in a critical late-season division series.

Gwynn was involved in the scoring throughout the game... putting SD ahead 2-1 early with a sac fly, hitting a solo HR in the 6th, and scoring an insurance run after walking in the 8th.

The win put the Padres within 4.5 games of the Astros in the National League West. The Padres have 18 games remaining, with just three more head to head games against the Astros.
