Too Much OBP ??

Postby Loobee » Sat Apr 19, 2008 6:16 pm

Is it possible to have too much OBP at the expense of sluggers in Kingdome?? I have Raines, Bradley and Kruk . Add in light hitting Larkin and this leaves me with 4 singles type hitters and is that too many for a place like Kingdome ? With another Kingdome and Jack Murphy in my division I am worried that I may need to move Kruk or Bradley for more power. If anyone has time I am open to opinions.

Thanks Guys !!!

I think your hitting should be adequate . Gubicza I've tried on 3 teams and in one word , he was "horrible" Take that 3+M and put it into pitching . I'd keep Johnson , Saberhagen ( but try to only pitch him on the road in pitchers parks) , Jackson ,Garber, Clements, Lefferts. Some names to look at : Teuwksberry , Flanagan , Mike Mason , Moore , Alexander just to mention a few.

Some Gubicza #'s for you :
At Riverfront
2 0 0 0 5.2 13 12 3 5 19.05 2.82
At Metrodome
18 3 9 0 102.1 93 44 56 73 3.87 1.46

Obviously you tweaked your team since you posted.

What is your positional situation? I assume Glenn Davis is your everyday 1B, and Raines is everyday in LF.
However, who is playing CF, RF, DH?
I am guessing Bass in CF, Canseco in RF, and Kruk at DH.

That means you have a 4 in CF and RF. That's going to hurt your pitching. If you're going to go with Canseco (and you should at Kingdome), then either a) dump Bass and get yourself a better CF defensively, or b) dump Kruk for a better CF, keep Bass for RF, and move Canseco to DH.

Otherwise, I think this is a pretty decent team. I like the offense a lot, and the balance of $$ spent in the pitching staff between SP and RP is good.

Good luck.

Thanks Guys !

I picked up Milner for CF and moved Bass to RF and Canseco to DH. Milner was best option in center besides Bradley who I could not swing cash wise. Thanks for the input !!!

This is a link to another team I have going tonight. Really too late to make any changes but I enjoy hearing what vets have to think !!

Youmans and Ortiz have been huge for me in several leagues!
