Help!!!! What, if anything can be done to save this team?

I got hosed in the draft. I'm not whinning but when you lose a couple of big guns in the 86 game, you really lose. It's not like ATG where you can go out and pick up some good players with no problem. But I know pitching is my big problem and I lost Scott (you pretty much have have the first pick to get him), Fernandez, Tekulve and Alexander in the draft. well after some ill advised tweaking this is what I ended up with. I tried a couple of high priced relievers like Thigpen, Lucas, and Anderson but to no avail. So is my situation hopeless? Or does someone have a majic bullet? Thank you in advance and any advice would be greatly appreciated. :D

You've got a ton of problems. Let's start with your hitters. You are way too RHB heavy. Look at your splits vL & vR. You're not very good at all against RHP, but you're great against LHP. Unfortunately, LHP are only about 1/4 of your total plate appearances. You need more LHB who can mash righties.

If I were you, I would drop Davis & pick up Traber to platoon at 1B w/ Jones. Pick up Gibson to play RF for you. You're OF defense is terrible and probably costing you a lot of runs. Never play a 4 in CF if you can avoid it. If you must play Hendrick & Cangelosi in the OF, make sure Hendrick is not your CF. Stop playing Jones in the OF.

All my favorite pitchers are taken, but I'd get rid of Ojeda (or Honeycutt or both) and replace with a decent RHP. I'd use the extra $$$ to improve my hitting v RHP at C & OF.

To sum up, get rid of Ojeda and/or Honeycutt, Leonard (you don't need 11 pitchers), Davis, Paciorek and Tolleson. Find a couple of decent RHSP who don't give up a ton of HR. Pick up Gibson to play RF, find a decent fielder (2 or lower if you can) to play CF (maybe Cape Fear is open to a trade), improve your hitting against RH pitching at C, pick up Traber to platoon w/ Jones at 1B.

By dropping Ojeda/Honeycutt/Davis and picking up Traber/Gibson you should have some $$ to play around with for whatever else you'd like.

Stop playing Jones & Hendrick in the OF, those 4's will kill you.

I'm not sure if things are recoverable, but pick one or 2 things to improve and see what you can do. You should at least be able to improve your performance against RH pitching and fix your OF defense. I think that'll go a long way towards making your team respectable.
