No you can't unless it is listed on his card. A player can only play the positions listed on his card. HAL (the computer manager) will ocasionally play a player out of position due to injuies etc. But you can't. This has always been one of my gripes because I maintain that a centerfielder can play anywhere in the outfield. In the Strat-O-Matic CD ROM game you can play players out of position. I don't want to get ridiculous like Mays catching or something like that, but rest assured thar Willie could and should be able to play any outfield position.
