What in God's name is going on in 1969?

Granted, I know very little about this game.

Why is Felix Millan leading my team in RBI's and Oliva only have 8?

Anybody got any order recommendations to create more run support?

You've got a great record. Relax and enjoy it. Oliva will come around sooner or later.

Thanks Pillpop...

But started hot and am slowing down...

If anyone has any recommendations for manufacturing runs with the lineup feel free to let me know.

Here's how I would bat them if I were coaching this roster. Now, this is an order based on the overall stats. I would check out the L/R splits at retrosheet.org to see if you need to tweak the lineup vs. righties and lefties:

1 - Buford (best opb and has speed)
2 - Wills (hits into fewest dps after Buford)
3 - Smith (best overall hitter)
4 - Oliva (next best power after Smith)
5 - Torre (next best power; clutch)
6 - Foy
7 - Sanguillen
8 - Millan

Just my $0.02

Thanks for the input. Wills so high up is an interesting choice but, no double play is a good point.

I'm so confused.

If your going to bat Sanquilan that low, might as well go with 8th instead of 7th, and hope that the pitcher puts the ball in play and moves him into 2nd....

Manny will have a low .300 BA and .330 -.340 OBP

Just seems such a waste to have Millan batting after him

I have had GREAT success batting Wills leadoff vs LH and 2d vs RH. IMO if he were a little better defensively he'd be the stud SS in the set instead of Rico.

Technically, of Buford-Willis.....

Willis has 13 chances to hit into a DP vs L, and 14 vs R
Buford has 10 chances against both sides

Broke it down for ya....

DP chances L/R

Buford 10/10
Willis 13/14
Sanquillen 29/29
Smith 25/29
Oliva 19/19
Torre 17/17
Foy 22/22
Millan 26/27

All your hitters BUT Torre have a * for running. A batter on 1st, with a *, automatically cuts down on the batter that is currently at bat, chances of hitting into a DP. (I think *ed runners on 1st HAVE to be held, or automatically gets the lead, one of those)

Sanquillen-Torre-Foy are your only hitters that have possitive clutch ($ sign on outs, which, turn into single* I believe with two outs, and a runner in scoring position).

Basically, what the means, is that Buford OR Willis should bat int he two hole.

Batting orders I like:
VS L
Willis
Buford
Smith
Oliva
Torre
Foy
Millan
Sanquillen

VS R
Saqnquillen
Willis
Buford
Torre
Oliva
Foy
Smith
Millan

One thing I did notice about your team. You have ALOT of S hitters. So, against L SPers, you only have ONE L hitter. That usually does not bode well. Against R SPers, you are fine.

But, If I noticed this about your team, I would throw all reverse L SPers at you and take my chances on pitcher card rolls

Not sure if this helps or not, but there it is....
