Bunnies beat Royals 3-0, extend winning streak to 8 games[/size:47d424823c][/color:47d424823c]

2 shutouts pitched in the series, 1 by DeLeon and the other by Scott. Murphy racked up 2 more saves to make 5 out of the 1st 9 games, no runs allowed yet.

5 more HR in Olympic Stadium. Now I head home for 6 games! Looking for a lot of HR's over the 6 games

Bunnies lead most offensive categories.

3rd in Pitching

Mike Scott lost to Floyd Yeoumans 15-1 last game lol yikes. Before that Scott was unhittable

Well 42 games into the season. Bunnies are 29-13 and on cruise control. Scott and DeLeon are dominating their games going 14-4 including a no-hitter from DeLeon.

3 guys in Cy Young balloting. Tons of guys in the all-star voting and Murphy leading the Fireman voting. Strawberry leading MVP.

My Road record is much better than my home record which is interesting. My pitching is leading the league.

I have had some injuries, Brooks went down for 7 and various others have been injured.

This looks like much better than .500 team

Stone,

I am impressed with your start so far. Apparently I underestimated the team's ability to play on the road. I don't recall what the other parks were, but all your stats indicate that you are dominating on the road and are just a hint over .500 at home.

Certainly with the overall record you have I would probably not change a single thing, but I would keep my eye on that home record. PArt of that is you have three SP who can pitch at home well, the others are not pitching well and probably won't. Meanwhile, it looks like you are matching up your pitchers well on the road.

I kind of wonder what your opponents' teams look like offensively. What's the league batting average, and where do you rank on it?

I suspect you will hit a dry spell at some point because of the injuries, defense, and BPHR, but so far they have not adversely affected your game, so WTG!!!

Keep it up! Prove all of us wrong!!

Pal, thx for the comments, I'll supply the info you were wondering about.

[b:171f182b2e]Other Parks in my Division are [/b:171f182b2e]: Yankees, Olympic and Astrodome
[b:171f182b2e]Other Divisions[/b:171f182b2e]: Fulton County, Anaheim, Arlington, Royals / Yankees, Shea, Oakland, Three Rivers

I'm 10-8 @ Home, 21-6 on the Road

[b:171f182b2e]Fluffy Bunnies [/b:171f182b2e]31-14 .689 - [b:171f182b2e]L10[/b:171f182b2e]: 7-3 [b:171f182b2e]Home:[/b:171f182b2e] 10-8 [b:171f182b2e]Away[/b:171f182b2e]: 21-6 [b:171f182b2e]LH[/b:171f182b2e]: 11-2 [b:171f182b2e]RH[/b:171f182b2e]: 20-12 [b:171f182b2e]Runs Scored[/b:171f182b2e]: 219 [b:171f182b2e]Runs Allowed[/b:171f182b2e]: 145

League Batting Average: .251 / .317 / .393
My Batting Averages: .262 / .313 / .451

Defense has cost me a couple games already. Mike Scott has quite a few unearned runs already giving him a 7-3 record when it should be better. My home record is puzzling me big time, but we'll see how it improves, my road record is way better than I thought, when I gointo their parks my starters are benefitting from the BP ratings but my offense is outscoring them in their parks. I am averaging 4.6 RS away while only giving up 3.1 on the road. It seems as if the other parks help my pitching but my hitting is too strong for theirs.

Thanks for the input and the encouragement. Since this post I won another series 2-1 last night to make 8 consecutive winning series. I have only lost 1 series 1-2 thus far.

BUNNIES HIT THE HALF WAY MARK AT 52-29

On pace for 104 wins, 10 Games up in my division.

Bunnies lead almost all Hitting categories and believe it or not they are leading the pitching.

I see that you did tinker with the roster a little bit recently. What were the changes?

I released Eric King and picked up Ted Power and Zane Smith. Both pitchers that seem to pitch better than their salary. Smith is great for Kingdome because he has no # on the card.

I released Dawson and Rob Murphy, big cap hits but I replaced with Aase and then picked up Mike Davis, Ralph Bryant, and Pete Incaviglia to add more punch in the Kingdome. Mike Davis replaced a ****** Willie McGee and Bryant/Inky took over platoon DH duties while Strawberry moved from DH to take over RF when I canned Dawson. Davis and Bryant have combined for 16 HR in 147 AB's. Aase hasn't blown a save yet so I got good value thus far replacing Murphy.

With the few extra duckets I picked up Wohlford who does good against LH for only .62 Mil.

I've had my share of injuries. Brooks twice, Dawson for 15, Garcia for 9, Bando for a few and Incaviglia for 3.

As of this post I have played 2 more series since the halfway point. Won both series 2-1 to make my record 56-31 as of right now.

I'm impressed. I'm not sure how exactly it is happening, but it is happening. Great results.

I mean, you are having a fantastic season from Larry Parrish - .974 OPS!
Plus, the run production from Cory Snyder is pretty damn impressive considering the guy has a .286 OBP. Straw's been good. Hubie is the man, but we knew that. And I think Garvey and Davis are using cream and clear.
And Scott, DeLeon, and Langston are a combined 34-10 ?! Wow. Scott is giving up some long balls, but not nearly as many as I anticipated.
Bullpen is a little shaky after Aase and Howell, but Aase and Howell are good.
I still think your defense is below average, but somehow it doesn't seem to matter.
Love/envy the more than plus-100 run differential at this point of the season.

Continued good luck.

Thanks Pal for your interest and time to post.

Couple of comments based on yours:

Larry Parrish is actually hitting Righties better than lefties - go figure. But I have always loved his power and production for 3 million bucks.

Snyder same thing, somehow he has 17 of his HR's against RH when he is 4L. Of course he sees many mor RH pitchers but I'm glad to see that. He Whiffs at an unbelievable rate but he is a bargain for 3 millin dollars as well.

Straw is good but sucks against LH. His production against RH is hard to beat and since he mainly sees RH pitchers he is worth the 9 mil.

Garvey hits the living crap out of LH pitchers. His card is remarkable for power against them. He is a steal when used as a platoon player for a measly couple mil. I am not surprised at all by his power output.

Davis is obviously a full time member of BALCO. No doubt about it. In 24 games he has 12 HR's and 30 RBI!! He has .300 BA and .721 Slg %. Just unreal. What a deal that was replacing McGee who struggles to perform above the Mendoza line.

Mike Scott has 3 games where the opposition has scored 15 runs, but yet he has a .94 whip and 2.24 ERA. Of course he has 14 unearned runs this year. But that guy either allows less than 2 runs or he gets crushed. But gettting crushed is a rarity. He also gives the bullpen (Aase and Howell) the night off in a high percentage of his starts.

IMO, Deleon is probably the most underated pitcher and even at 6 million dollars probably the most undervalued pitcher in the 1986 set. In my first league he won the Cy Young, this league he is leading the voting and in my other 2 leagues he is just about as tough. I love this guy, this kind of production I've come to expect. If he was a SP* he would be worth 9-10 mil.

Langston is the product of very carefully picked starts. On a team where the bulk of their production comes from the left side... he dominates. Good pitcher for the 1.6 mil price tag. He also can hold his own against RH hitters on most occasions.

All the pitchers on my team except for Scott and usually Deleon are spot starters based on matchups. Deleon will sometimes be shuffled to go against the top teams in the league or as an Ace killer so alot of his starts and wins are against top quality pitchers which make his stats more impressive.

Bullpen is definately shaky after Howell and Aase but I have several SP who can relieve and they get called in on occasions.

My defense is certainly below average, but with 2 top tier pitchers and murderers row it doesn't matter. Can't say it hasn't cost me a couple of games in errors and extra hits but I'll out slug the other team on many occasions.

Got my eyes set on 100 wins, we'll see what happens.

Thanks Pal
