is this going to be a frenzy, waivers, or draft?

Weighted Waivers - Frenzy would be a little too crazy for a 24-team league.

I have my team ready - it is NL (West) - do I wait...

I have my team ready - it is NL (West) - do I wait for the East and Central to fill up first, so that I end up in the right divisions for an "NL" team?

BTW, is there a new setting for new leagues that allows you to set the use of the DH (or no DH) on a variable basis, depending on what division you are in, and whether or not you are the home team for a game/series????

Very curious and interested!!!

OK, glad you brought that up Geoff. Yes, NL teams must wait until all AL teams have been entered to the East and Central divisions.

Unfortunately, we can't have variable DH settings by team or division within the league - i.e., both "AL" and "NL" will use the DH in this league.

Now that you mention it though, the CD-ROM game has league configuration options to set DH or No-DH by team. If Bernie wanted to, he could probably add that enhancement - just not for this league. :)

Thanks for the clarification!

Too bad about the DH (for us NL traditionalists!)! But that sounds like a good enhancement for Bernie to tackle - it would be very cool to have the real life DH/no DH interaction based on the home team's league!

Oh well, I will have to redo my team! Jeepers!

I think I just realized (a little slow on my part) that...

Postby gbrookes » Fri Dec 11, 2009 10:24 am

...you can ONLY PICK PLAYERS FROM THE NATIONAL LEAGUE, IF YOU HAVE A NATIONAL LEAGUE TEAM!!!!

(And of course, only AL players if you have an AL team).

Sorry, a little slow on my part. I get it now (embarrassed).

No problem, I think most of my players were NL players anyway!! (After all, it IS the better league, even if its strat managers are slow on the uptake!).

Fortunately for me, I hadn't redone my team since realizing I had to use a DH, so I am still only redoing my team for the second time!

Yours truly,
Casey Stengel (!)

Trade Assumptions?

Postby mbrake » Fri Dec 11, 2009 11:14 am

I assume AL & NL pre-season trades are allowed to correct auto-draft errors in conjunction with waivers & outright player releases, followed by AL to AL & NL to NL only trades during the regular season, correct?

Can we please post a list of which teams were in NL? AL?

Postby gbrookes » Fri Dec 11, 2009 11:45 am

My memory is a little foggy, but my recollection is that:

Milwaukee was AL.
Florida was NL
Tampa Bay was NL??

The more I think about it, the more I realize my memory IS foggy!

Also, Riggo, can you please restate for everyone that you have already said that Arizona will be treated as an NL team for talent pool purposes.

As a separate question, is Arizona an NL team for ALL purposes, or JUST for talent pool purposes?

THANKS!
