O.F.E.T. (All Loaded, League to Commence on July 28th!!!)

Our historical single season sets

Postby Phenomenal » Thu Jul 17, 2008 6:11 am

I am in a seminar all day today. I was hoping to get through a few more rounds yesterday to make setting my proxies a little easier.

I have set up 10 proxies. I made every effort to insure I would not get multiple players from a team. If for some reason we get through all those players then I may have a hour or 2 gap before I pick again. But base on how the draft went yesterday we may only get through a couple rounds before 5 pm tonigt anyways so I think I will be alright.

Good luck everyone and please stop taking my players!!

I DID load two guys: Mack Jones and Bob Moose. Jones went right before my pick so I got Moose and I manually made the initial pick for Round 9 this morning.

Let's get as many players chosen today as possible; to have each team drafted and loaded by Friday was a very ambitious goal - we shoot for early next week, huh?

Re: Skipping

[quote:ab54d11b2d="jeigenauer"]I disagree entirely with the decision to skip draft picks. That was not a part of the original rules and should not be instituted out of frustration. While it is great to have a draft move along, there is no good reason to be anxious to get it done.

But when someone says he is going to be in meetings all day and will do his best, that is good enough for me.

I agree, John. I was very reluctant to skip anybody yesterday. There was no rules about time limits - so sit back, move it along as best as you can and enjoy the draft. Most of us will tell you that the draft is more fun than the actual games! :D

Franky is up in Round 9 - six picks made this morning already. Gotta love the proxy system!

Skipping

Postby JOHNEIGENAUER » Thu Jul 17, 2008 7:25 am

Thanks to everyone for addressing this issue honestly. From what I read, there are several players with obligations that necessitate our patience. I think that starting on Monday the 28th is probably a reasonable goal, given our life situations. Thanks for understanding...

I took Willie Mays the pick BEFORE Reggie Smith was taken. I think the primary difference between them is the fact that Mays is an injury 2 and Smith is an injury 1. However I took Mays because I wanted Moses as my catcher. I would rather have Mays and Moses than Smith and whatever slug would be left from the Giants later.

In all the 1969 regular leagues and theme leagues I have been in I don't think I have ever used Ollie Brown. His card doesn't look that bad and compared to what might be left on San Diego later he is an all-star. I'm looking forward to trying him out!

I as well will be in a seminar most of the day and have dinner after that. I have loaded appx 20 proxies so there should be no wait for me. In the event they do all get spent, do not hesitate to skip if a hour or 2 has passed waiting on me.

I agree with your position on that one. Solid thinking, LM.

It looks like we'll stop for awhile - we are up to Pick 105 (StoneWalled), but I believe that he advised his presence would be dependent on a seminar...

Morgan

Ken

Nice pick with Morgan in the 10th round. I don't know how he lasted that long. And with your strong defense, he won't kill you in LF.
