I saw Bob Gibson pitch against the Expos in Jarry Park, Montreal in 1969 and I was very impressed.
Of course I was 10 years old and at my 1st major league game, so everything was pretty impressive.

I remember seeing Gibby as a guest star on Gentle Ben in about '71 or so? He seemed pretty cool on the show.

Never saw him in person though - if only there'd have been interleague play back then - he could have beaten up on the Twins and I'da seen it.

The films of the '67 and '68 WS with him pitching are pretty cool.

I got to see Gibby in the early 70's at Shea.

I remember reading an article in the sporting news (back when it was still good, before they dedicated more ink to Nascar than Baseball) about Gibson, he said he was so competitive he wouldn't let his 8-year old daughter beat him at checkers.

I remember Gibson through his dominating world series performances in the 60's. Later I was surprised to see him doing T V commercials for primatene mist in the 70's or maybe early 80's

I heard a rumor that the country legend Merle Haggard was re doing his hit song " If we make it to December " In honor of our slow pace he's re doing the song as "If we make it through February" :) :D :)

Definitely a different game w/o proxies!

Brandoncraig sent me his proxy picks by PM for his next pick - all can feel free to do that and I will pick for you if I am around (which I usually am, but I will be out from about 9am until just after noon CST today).

Only do this if your comfortable - and make your priorities clear.

Thanks

I am so sorry I held you up a little guys....It is tough without proxies (which I always use in live drafts)....
I am a busy guy and have limited access to the computer during the day (not because I don't have it OPEN ON MY DESK but I am just rarely sitting down at my office desk). I will try to check in as much as possible.
