Yep.
Wanted to do something special with catcher. If Dietz and Hendricks both weren't available weren't going to take either one of them and would go another direction. Didn't know how to make Diamond Dope do what I wanted to do with that one, so just cut it off until that pick showed up.

I can't give a solid promise on the times. I'll do my best to turn it on around 11 AM EST and turn it off 12 PM EST.

I'd say keep it on during the weekend as well. That's when we (and the 12 of us are pretty passionate strat guys) will all be off work and should be able to make good time. Proxies will help and we could be done by the end of the weekend. the middle/end of the draft is when it really starts to bog down so I'm sure the clock will help.

Happy picking to everyone.....

TORRE

Postby johnlaw1564 » Tue Sep 13, 2011 11:54 pm

[quote:af3046aad5="ehlekev"]By the way guys, while I was on the road, I was loading proxies with my phone and it was tough. I made an error with my proxies and ended up with Aaron and Kaline....both RF only! Luckily, Kaline is less than $3M. I will end up having to draft only 4 OFs and force Hal to use Kaline as a replacement in every OF position for injuries.
Also, I drafted Torre to play at catcher. I could live with his C-4 rating, E1 rating. However, after I got him, I noticed his T-1-19 rating. Yikes! I just as well have picked up Hawk Taylor..my hero.

Another words...a clunky draft for me. Luckily, some of you other guys have picked up players you don't like. That makes me happy!

KEV - I would trade for Torre if you want to free up some $ to fill out your roster. Let me know if you want me to draft "Hawk" and work a sign and trade deal! J Law

Poppa Rock took quite a platoon at C in his last corner picks (Dietz/Hendricks). That is a good hitting 7.2M catcher if it works optimally.

Hey John, I picked up Hawk!! My team is now perfect. I have Torre at catcher who throws the ball into CF more often than not...backed up by Hawk and his no-defense offering. I have Aaron and Kaline in RF, but the rules are that I can only play 1 RF at a time. That's an issue. I can back both of these guys up with Hawk Taylor RF! That is key!
Now Kaline, Oliver, Aaron, Torre, and Foy, can be a 5-way platoon at 1B....which means I can slide in Hawk at C every 5th game and at RF every 3rd game.
I don't see any way that this game plan could fail!!!
Even so, if you have room for Torre, let me know. I might be willing to break the perfect scenario.

As we wind down this draft please check out RAISE THE MOUND sign-up. A new '69 theme league - no hitters greater than $2M.

Thanks!
