American & National League Two Team League LEAGUE IS FULL

Our historical single season sets

Postby Risden » Thu Dec 01, 2005 2:29 pm

Sorry for posting the same thing twice - is anyone having continued difficulties getting into the message boards? It's ben tough over the last few hours.

Thanks for the note on the Royals. I did consider the Royals, but I thought the main weakness of the Giants was an everyday SS and a bullpen. The Angels offered more help in those two spots (Fregosi, Tatum, Wilhelm) than the Royals could offer, IMHO.

Again, I think this is a great concept for a league. Lots of secod-guessing will be possible and there's no room for improvement once you pick your teams and your stadium.

OK. I thought Cleveland might be taken last, but the Cubs have no CF defense, some guys on Cleveland can DH and McDowell completed a pretty decent rotation.

LMB I'll take the Yanks if you'd rather get the Royals..

LMBombers,

I think you should take an alternate name, like New York Highlanders instead of New York Yankees, too generic.

Go with the historical NY Highlanders, first name of the Yankees.

That'l work.

Maybe this is my NY bias coming out too, although I did enjoy watching their first few 90's championships, with Boggs, O'Neil, Leyritz (only for 1/2 a year though)...etc.

maybe it is cause I really am not a steinbrenner fan

But, I just would rather not see New York Yankees, more so because it is an actual single teams name.

Just thought I would offer an idea. :)

Splinter, Hooner has to wait on Assmeriten before he can pick his second team.

I don't like the New York Yankees name either since I am a Red Sox fan. I will use the NY Metro Yankees name.

Memphisjohn, I considered the Royals and the Pilots but thought the Yankees matched up best with the Mets. I have no 3B however. I will have to use sub-1M players at 3B. Yuck

Jamie399 - You can go ahead and pick your AL team if you like. Hopefully we will hear from Assmeriten soon so the NL teams can get picked.

I am done with my draft. If anyone would like to send me a PM with their proxies I will be glad to process your proxy.

LMBombers, at least you are not deciding between Tom Tresh and Don Money (Phi.) or Maury Wills( L.A.) or Bobby Wine (Mon.) or Tommy Dean (S.D.)

Not the best SS group defensively.
