Thanks Soches. I would like to use SF but would like to review the rules so I understand. Just a min.

I would be interested but I'm not sure I could handle the FA rules.....I love making moves, so I would need 28 spots and not if I only only pick a bad team. How about you can also leave off a few players from your team and replace with FA from unpicked teams only? Can u exclusively drop and pick up anybody from your ML team if there are more than 28, kinda like a farm team? Are there trades?

I hear what you're saying, but I think we should try and keep the teams as real as possible or else what's the difference between this league and any other. I really just want to watch my favorite players perform for an entire season. There nothing at stake really, it's free!

I'm not the originator of the league, but kinda picked up on this to get it going. I believe the original intent of the league is to keep it as close to real teams as possible. The adding of FA was to compensate teams whose 'real record in 1986' was not as good, so as to keep this league as competitive as possible. Keeping to as few FA as possible keeps the teams as close to the original 1986 rosters as possible.

Anyone can chime in and I will go with the majority, but these are the rules as I believe the intent of the league was created.

1. Must stick to your team’s rosters with the exception of the 1, 2 or 3 FA listed by each team.

2. The 1, 2 or 3 FA’s come from the 14 unused teams.

3. Must use the stadium of the team you select.

4. For those getting FA’s, put them at the top of your draft list.

5. No trades

6. Roster size doesn’t matter

7. 200M (so you can dip into the few players you may have left)(like your own farm team)

8. Waivers (so the teams that are getting FA’s can fight for those players)

As soon as we get 12 signed up, I will create the league and password and PM it to everyone. Enter the league at will.

Sound OK….anything else I missed?

I do think it would be nice that after waivers each team can pick up one more free agent. (teams that get none can pick up one after waivers teams that get 3 can go now to 4 but can not pickup there forth until after waivers. That way every time can make moves if needed. Also I think that trades should be allowed since they would happen in real baseball also.

just my 2 cents... but happy either way.

I would definitely sign up ggrover's idea. Also (not to try and change the theme of the league). I've been in leagues where everybody gets two MLB teams to choose a roster from, so you can pick any 28 player from the roster of 2 actual teams. Unlimited moves to drop/pickup players from those two teams only.

Sorry, I have been busy and not checked the fourms for a couple days. I am glad you guys like my original idea and ran with it. Count me in. I am up for any of the idea's since after all it's free and we are doing it to have fun.

Count me in as the braves (i editted my pick after doing some research), 2 teams to go

I do think there should be trades within reason but I am not sure if this game has a veto function to eliminate silly trades. For example if the Chisox wanted to deal Karkovice and swap him to someone who wanted a better defensive catcher for example the philles to back up daulton of the no arom for a pitcher to shore up the chisox staff issues that was certainly a plausible trade for that era that never happened.

I also like the expanded roster of 28 to include any player that was on the team that year and may have been trade and isn't currently on a selected team. that way you would get a best of team plus your FA's to build a premim roster and ensure maximum competitiveness. All it would take would e aquick e-mail to the gm and a quick look at their career to see if they actually played for the team. I certainly recall from playing with the acutal cards that there were teams like the angtels that had more than 25 players so cuts would need to be made.
