1999: Riggo’s Bragging Rights League (AL vs. NL)

Our historical single season sets

Thanks Red Beards!

Once again, I am playing the twit. :(

I had it stuck in my head that there had been some realignment after 1999, but I found a good article on it at:

http://baseball.suite101.com/article.cfm/a_brief_history_of_baseball_expansion

It turns out that the last realignment was in 1998! (Time flies!)

But thanks for the help - it seems like I need all the help I can get!!

:)

no problem I know the site so well because I have to keep looking at it to remind myself who played where.

[color=indigo:c76713ce79][u:c76713ce79][b:c76713ce79]Arizona [/b:c76713ce79]is in the AL [/u:c76713ce79]for this league[/color:c76713ce79]. This is because:

A) We needed to balance the available talent*.
B) Arizona is a recent expansion team.

* My first thought was to keep Milwaukee in the AL since they switched leagues only the year before, but that would have left an uneven distribution of talent.

OK, Arizona is AL, not NL for this league! Got it! :)

:)

I see now that there are 2 more times in the NL, so putting Arizona in the AL balances things out. Works for me - although I also see that Arizona had a great team in 1999, despite being a recent expansion team!

That just means that us true NL'ers won't have to listen to any excuses from the AL'ers!

American League managers can start entering your teams. Thanks for patience fellas - it could take a little while to fill this one.
