Re: Sign me up

Postby TallEd » Mon Dec 12, 2011 6:55 am

[quote:7017e8faff="hackra"]AuntTookie asked me to join, and I try to give her what she wants.

If you don't mind adding a Fantasim player who has never tried a 1969 team, sign me up.

[color=red:7017e8faff]I do have several questions about the rules.
#1) are there no preseason transactions allowed?
#2) I am having trouble accessing the player set and stadiums, is there a link to find them or shall I just purchase a team to look?
(I can find the spreadsheet, but it does not show the cards or stadiums)
#3) When will the draft be, and what will the time limit be?
(I am often busy at work, and may not be on line for the draft time)
#4) I have signed up for diamonddope, and can see the draft page. Is there a way to do a mock draft so I can figure out how to set proxies? [/color:7017e8faff]

Thanks,
Rick "doc" Hack ( [b:7017e8faff]hackra[/b:7017e8faff])[/quote:7017e8faff]

First let me say welcome and that the league is now full! Second I can see you are a smart man, as shown by your comment with regards to your wife's wishes.:) Now to address your questions.

1.As the rules are set up there are no preseason moves. Usually they are not needed since the players on your roster were drafted.
2.On diamond dope you can view the stadiums by selecting either the lineup or pool link then the 1969 set then you can scroll the drop down box for stadiums to see the values. they read SIleft, SIright, HRleft, HRright; from left to right. As for viewing the cards; prior to purchasing a team I have not found a way to view them. I hope that This gets fixed when the site is revamped. If anyone else knows a way to view the cards help me out here. However, once I complete setting up the draft on diamond dope and you log in to the draft, if you select the berce link 1969 set and then FA list you can view the cards.
3.The draft will begin once a draft randomizer is run to determine draft order and I complete the setup on diamond dope. Hopefully that will happen soon and the draft can start later today. time limit will be set to off so you won't miss a pick. The first 2 picks should go quickly once it starts because there is such a small amount of choices (1 pitcher & 1 hitter valued 8.5 mil or more) after that it will become more thought provoking as the entire set becomes available but keeping in mind that you will have a limited amount of cap $ left to select 23 players (9more pitchers and 14 hitters). the draft will most likely take several days or more to complete. Most folks don't use proxies until it gets near the end and their core players are selected.
4.I do not know of a way to do a mock draft. If someone else does please chime in and help me out.

Hope this answers your questions. If anymore come up don't hesitate. Check the message board as often as you are able. I will be posting when the draft is set up on diamond dope. It should be up later today. If you decide to purchase a team to view the cards don't complete joining a league until ours is set up. It will be a private league password will be given here and the league has not yet been setup on Strato.

Now if someone will run a randomizer we can proceed.

draft is ready

Draft is ready on Diamond Dope. Let the fun begin. I have the clock set to off to allow everyone a chance to see this and get ready. As we get into the draft we can discuss turning the clock on.

This is a difficult format. I struggled deciding between Jackson and Gibson. I didn't like the looks of what I might be left with on pitching, so Gibson was the safer pick.
