Don't worry about these until after the draft is finished and you look at your team. Then it will be self-explanatory and very easy to set up.

Fielding replacement runs reasonably well - but only when you are in the lead by a few runs. If you are tied, behind (or ahead by a big margin), HAL will not replace your fielders. In some rare circumstances HAL will make replacements that you don't want (I had one team where HAL insisted on using Terry Harmon at 3rd when I wanted Hebner). Crying and yelling helped with my emotional release, but HAL still kept moving Harmon to 3rd.

Pinch-hitting is mostly a crapshoot. HAL has his own ideas on pinch hitting and you just have to resign yourself to living with HAL's ideas. If you just can't stand the player that HAL likes to use as a pinch hitter, then you may have to cut or trade away that player.

The bottom line: Relax, once you play a few games it will be easy to see how the game is played.

I would add that you guys are way ahead of the game having the likes of Franky and Risden dispensing advice. My first team was a '69 team and I had no idea what I was doing until I was 10 games under 500. Then once I knew what I was doing I dropped to 15 under. :lol:
