Lou Piniella 0.5
One of my favorite stories of Lou was told by Steve Palermo, the former AL umpire to Bob Costas on the baseball network last year. It was a blow out game (he couldn't remember which team was ahead) and he called a high pitch a strike to Lou.
Sweet Lou backed out of the batters box and turned to Steve and said "Steve, where was that pitch at?"
Palermo, not missing a beat, said "Lou, never ask me a question that ends in a preposition---that isn't correct"
Lou steps into the box and calls time at the last moment possible and said "Steve, where was that pitch at, you "bleeping" *******"
Palermo said he couldn't stop laughing and said "Lou that is a correct use of the inquisitive form"
Gotta love it!
