[quote:dbc2b72e25="Pelzer"]My favorite was Tiger Stadium---What a great place to see a game....Never been to Commerica though..I used to live in the Detroit suburbs years ago and have ALOT of great memories at Tiger Stadium with my kids when they were growing up....Enjoy your youngsters while you can...the years will fly by and then it's just you chasing the ole' lady around the empty house and you'll rarely catch her!! :D[/quote:dbc2b72e25]

I grew up in Toledo so Tiger Stadium is where alot of my early baseball memories are. If you get a chance you have to see Comerica, ITs a beautiful ballpark! :)

the clock is ticking on Tiger Stadium...it'll probably start getting torn down this summer. none of the plans to save it ever panned out, including putting housing units in there and shopping. too bad. briggs/tigers stadium...they'll never be another like it. mitch album did a nice closing comment on it last sunday on the sports reporters.

Not to mention the greatest anouncer ever --bar none--IMO....Ernie Harwell!! Best memories at the corner:

1. Jack Morris warming up between innings and a Leer jet buzzes the stadium right over third base and on thru right field..The noise was deafening...Never forget watching Morris ducking when the plane came over him...They later arrested the pilot who was drunk as heck.

2. John Wockenfuss crushes a grand salami against the Red Sox in extra innings for the win.

3. Higginson wallaps 3 HR's in the same game

4. Dave Stewert and Frank Tanana hook up in a 1-0 pitchers dual..Both were awesome but Stewert was unhittable that day.

my favorite/least favorite...okay, most indelible memory...1984 playoffs, sitting in the auxilary press box, which was that old box above the rightfield foul pole...coldest place on earth. monahagn still owned the team, so they sent some dominoe's pizzas up there for us. by the time they got to us, they were almost literally frozen.

I live in Grand Rapids, MI. Only a couple hours from Detroit. I have been to Tiger Stadium many times. Probably my most memorable moments there was watching Lance Parrish and Ruppert Jones clearing the roof for a Home Run (in different games) and watching Lou Whitaker hit his first career Grand Slam.

My favorite place to sit was upper deck box seats on 3B line at a night game.

Ernie Harwell is without a doubt the best there ever has been and probably will ever be.

I have been to Comerica also. It is a nice, comfortable place to watch a game. Very open and all the seats are good seats.

Nice job gentleman. Way to stay on the ball throughout the draft and getting your teams loaded pronto! This has been a blast and look forward to a good season.

Are you old enough to remember the old Centerfield Bleachers? Back in the mid 70's I didn't have much extra money and I'd take my kids to the game and sit in the bleachers for $1 apiece  Heck you can't even get a hot dog for that now. Those were the days......Another park I really liked was the old "Candlestick" in SF.......Got to go there once about the time I was getting out of the Army...As far as current stadiums I have been to, I would have to rate Turner field as the nicest I have seen.....Went to Kauffman in KC last year and although nothing like Turner field, it is a really good park to watch a game..Very accessible and you are darn near on the field.
